Volleyball is a fun social game and sport. At beaches and parks friends and family gather on the court for a friendly match or two, although all the technical aspects of the game aren’t necessarily that important for the occasion. Volleyball also happens to be an Olympic sport taken very seriously around the world. The sport is also an obsession for many, who even draw volleyball cartoons in their spare time.

Even more interesting is how, unlike other sports like basketball soccer, volleyball is watched by millions even when women are the players. In fact, there’s something about the game that makes watching as sinful as watching one of our favorite cartoons growing up. But this is not volleyball cartoon. Watching women who are as comfortable in bikinis as they are in pajamas is a sight and somehow it’s real. And for women, watching men with amazing upper bodies running around in shorts is just as entertaining.

Both women and men volleyball players have sex appeal, but women volleyball players for whatever reasons seem to have a lot more of the attention. Women volleyball players seem to be drawn in more volleyball cartoons then men are, and they have lots of bikini photos to share with the public. If you go to Misty May’s website, you don’t have to dig far to see photos of her posing like a swimsuit model in, yes, a bikini. Of course, we don’t blame her. The nature of volleyball sculpts the body so well that volleyball players are not that far from perfectly drawn volleyball cartoon characters.

Don’t forget about Gabrielle Reece. In the 1990’s Gabrielle Reece was not only known for her amazing volleyball skills. Her good looks were easily noticeable past her volleyball skills and she became a model in her own right in addition to doing some TV work. No, she did not have her own volleyball cartoon show, but could have. Gabrielle made it to fitness journals and fashion magazines, signed a contract with NIKE, and even wrote her own autobiography in 1997. At 6’3”, Gabrielle Reece was a well-known athlete and model all thanks to her volleyball career.

If volleyball players were fully clothed from just above their knees to their elbows, would volleyball still be such a spectator sport? With the tighter, shorter, and more revealing uniforms, volleyball is just happens to be a really hot Olympic Sport, especially when played on the beach. The model volleyball competitions that go on in Miami Beach say it all. When was the last time we saw models competing in a basketball game or a day of golf?
