Volleyball Camps
Volleyball Camp
Choosing a volleyball camp for your child can be a difficult task. Volleyball camps vary in terms of length, level of skills taught, pace, age group, and cost. At the same time, the number of camps across the country is overwhelming. Although camps can vary in cost, some say that cost has little to do with the quality of the camp. More important is how comfortable you are with the camp and what it has to offer.
When evaluating volleyball camps, others have offered some suggestions on the criteria to use. First, find out how past attendees liked the camp along the lines of what they learned, how much they practiced, the pace of the lessons, and if they would return to the same camp in the future. Second, talk to parents of past attendees of the camp. Ask them to inform you on what they thought about the coach in terms of interacting with the children, parents, and the coach’s attitude in general. Also, use parents as a resource for finding out about how prepared the camp was and how staff communicated to their children. Most importantly, ask parents about the value of the volleyball camp to them. Third, find out about the coach in charge and other experts at the camp. Finally, make sure the camp offers the level of challenge your child needs, whether your child is advanced or a beginner.
Elite Volleyball Camp
There are many different elite volleyball camps offered throughout the country. Elite volleyball camps are typically designed around the varsity-level athlete. Rather than focusing on basic fundamental skills of the game, elite camps focus on technical skills and advanced strategies. Elite volleyball camps also give the varsity-level athlete opportunities to concentrate on perfecting the skills of specific positions as well as team skills. Intense physical conditioning is also a common part of elite volleyball camps.
