ELF Bowling

Elf Bowling is a humorous computer game created by a company called NStorm. Free copies of Elf Bowling can be downloaded onto a PC, but the game is not available for download to a Mac computer. The game was released in 1999 during the holiday season. Elf Bowling continues to grow in popularity and is now played year round by computer enthusiasts of all skills levels. The company actually encourages the free downloading of Elf Bowling and has never made copies of the game available through retail stores.

Players, acting as Santa Claus, knock down elves that are arranged like bowling pins. Elf Bowling is based on a story line that Santa Claus is getting revenge on his gang of striking toy factory elf employees. Players use their mouse to position the bowling ball to the left or right of the lane and then click the mouse and pull the ball back. The bowling ball is then thrown down the bowling alley by moving the mouse forward and releasing the mouse. Players aim to bowl a perfect 300 just like they would at their local bowling alley.

Since the first elf bowling game was released in 1999 there have been six more editions for PC computers. Each subsequent version is a spin off of the original Elf Bowling game, but changes are made to the characters and the way that Santa exacts his revenge on the striking elves. Elf Bowling 2 uses the elves as shuffleboard pieces on the desk of a cruise ship. Elf Bowling 3 lets players sling elves from Ms. Kringle’s bra towards ice targets. Elf Bowling 4 allows players to act as Santa or Mrs. Kringle, but more importantly the game is 3-dimensional. Elf Bowling 5 uses elves as bocce balls. The latest edition, Elf Bowling 6, launches elves over a mound of snow sending the elf airborne. The elves can propel themselves through the air by their “fart” power.
